Below is a message from Eric Elliot, Club President 2024-25
Good news is worth repeating: I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend. I am excited to share an update from the board of directors. The board has approved two new membership categories: young professional and corporate. These new membership options are part of our ongoing effort to grow our membership with diverse perspectives and energy and ensure Rotary’s future relevance in our community.
YOUNG PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
The young professional membership is designed for individuals under 40 years old who possess leadership and influence. This program offers subsidized dues over a three-year period, making it more affordable for young professionals to join and experience the benefits of Rotary Club membership. During this period, the members will be expected to attend at least 50% of the meetings, participate in two committees, pay their dues on time, and contribute annually to the Rotary International Foundation. Our goal is to recruit lifelong members who will bring energy, perspective, and skills to our club.
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
Corporate membership offers businesses and other organizations a flexible way to give back to their local community while developing their employees’ personal and professional skills through Rotary. Corporate members pay a single initiation fee and dues, but the membership allows up to three individuals to attend meetings, participate in committees and fellowship events, and enjoy the benefits of Rotary affiliation. Organizations also receive recognition at Rotary events. Corporate members will pay a fee structure that takes into consideration the additional administrative load associated with the flexibility included in the program. The amounts will be established each year by the board of directors during the normal budgeting process. We have set the rates for the current Rotary Year at $300 for the initiation fee, $1,250 for the primary member dues, and $175 for each alternate member dues (up to two). The implementation and roll-out of these new membership categories will be overseen by the board of directors, with the support of various club committees. We will be creating promotional materials, approaching organizations, and providing support structures for young professional members. I want to emphasize that every member has a role to play in rolling out these new options and attracting the next generation of Rotarians. These initiatives reflect our commitment to adapting and evolving to meet the needs of a changing world, ensuring our continued impact and relevance in the community. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to our club.
Yours in Rotary,
President Eric
