Salvation Army Bell-Ringing

For more than four decades, Rotary Club of Lancaster members have been serving as bell ringers for the Salvation Army Lancaster Corp’s Red Kettle campaign.

Positioned at the corner of Lancaster City’s 300-year-old Central Market location, Rotarians help to ring in the holidays each year.  The Red Kettle Campaign, the oldest annual charitable fundraiser of its kind in the US, helps raise money for those who need it most in our community, helping to provide toys for kids, coats for the homeless, food for the hungry and countless social service programs.

In December 2024, we had a special presentation by SWAN (Scaling Walls a Note at a Time).  One of the programs that has been supported by our club, SWAN is a Lancaster-based music & support group for children affected by parental incarceration. School-aged children in its music programs receive free music lessons, ensemble training, performance opportunities, and mentoring from local music teachers.
